Complexity in Landscape Management
Professor Wayne Meyer from the Environment Institute at the University of Adelaide, recently presented a new research program in the University of Adelaide – Landscape Science. It includes an excellent summary of the Natural Resource Management (NRM) governance and delivery structures in Australia and South Australia. Wayne makes a strong case for undertaking integrated landscape science (studying how all the bits of the landscape interact) to develop decision support tools that can be used to assess the cumulative impact of decisions by individuals and government on the landscape.
